The year of Ox has finally taken over. Chinese all over the world , no matter where they are treat themselves with grand feasts under whatever names they may choose, be it reunion or get together dinners.I hope they all enjoy this Spring Festival as it is called in China but is known as Lunar New Year in most of the countries outside China.
In Malaysia, there will be a long holiday though officially two days only. Most Chinese will celebrate for one whole week. Needless to say, Malaysians of other races also join in taking holidays. These few days, streets which usually are crowded have become surprisingly quiet. Malaysia is a unique country, Only in here, one enjoys the most colourful festive reasons.
In celebrating the year of ox, I have written a poem in Chinese. If you can read Chinese, please enjoy reading it and give me your comment:
我本丁丑一条牛
牛转乾坤总是求
求得两鬓灰砖白
白云青山不言休。
Translations in meaning:
"I am but an ox born in the year of Dingchou,
Like an ox I have tried reversing undesirable situations
My hair have thus turned from grey to silvery white
But ne'er give up hope like the white cloud and green mountains.

very good poem!!!
ReplyDeleteI always respected you for your perseverance.
And I miss you and mom...more so during the Chinese new year
我本丁丑一条牛
ReplyDelete牛转乾坤总是求
求得两鬓灰砖白
白云青山不言休。
休假只为长远路,
路上荆棘不底头,
头肩大任将于我
我本踏实一头牛!

Hey (:
ReplyDeleteTwo posts that proudly display a liberal who will defend my right to disagree with you to your last breath, all the while being unafraid to say that you think I'm wrong.
Looking forward to more posts in the near future!~ x)
